With that in mind please consider our frequently asked questions?

Is smoking permitted at Amarna Resort?

  • NO. Amarna Resort is a fully non-smoking property.

Can I invite family or friends over to visit during my stay?

  • NO. Amarna is for the exclusive use of  registered guests only, therefore visits from family and friends for any reason is NOT permitted.

Is Amarna suitable for hosting a party?

  • NO. Amarna is a quiet, peaceful resort with a strict no party policy. Therefore it is not suitable for all occasions.

  • Amarna accommodates a maximum of 10 guests in a group. They must be accommodated in apartments allocated by management only.

  • Any breach of the Resort Policies and Regulations may result in cancellation of your stay, and the full rate of accommodation forfeited.

  • Resort Management reserves the right to remove any persons from the premises for any breach of the Resort.


Is Amarna Suitable to host my wedding?

  • NO. Weddings are not permitted at Amarna.

Am I permitted to arrange for photographers, hair and makeup artists or members of my wedding party to come to my apartment?

  • NO. Amarna is for the exclusive use of  registered guests only.

  • Please make alternative arrangements prior to your arrival.

  • Any breach of the Resort Policies and Regulations may result in cancellation of your stay, and the full rate of accommodation forfeited.

Whats happens if I bring more guests than specified in my booking?

  • If a suitable apartment is not available to accommodate the additional guests, your booking will be cancelled and alternative accommodation will need to be obtained.

Do all apartments have water views?

  • YES. All apartments have a northerly aspect offering sensational panoramic water views.

How far is Amarna from the beach?

  • Amarna is waterfront with direct beach access.

What time is check in and check out?

  • Check in is 3.00 pm.

  • Check out is by 10.00 am.

  • Check in is available after reception hours with prior arrangements (up to 8pm).

What are your reception hours?

  • Reception is open between 9.00am and 5.00pm  7 days – We do have 24 hour onsite Management.

Are all apartments fully self contained?

  • All apartments are fully self contained with full size fridge, Miele cook top, oven, dishwasher and built in coffee machine in Kitchen. Miele washer and dryer in Laundry.

Are the apartments air conditioned?

  • YES. Reverse cycle ducted air conditioning. Warm in winter. Cool in Summer.

Is linen provided?

  • Quality linen is provided in all apartments including beach towels.

Are the apartments serviced?

  • The apartments are serviced daily.

  • A full service is provided on the fourth day for stays of seven nights or more.

Is there car parking onsite?

  • Each apartment is provided with one allocated off street car space. Additional parking is subject to availability.

Is there a lift?

  • YES

Is the swimming pool heated?

  • Amarna offers a 25 meter heated swimming pool and spa. The swimming pool is heated to approximately 26 degrees and the spa is heated to 36 degrees, all year round.

Is breakfast included in our rates?

  • A complimentary continental breakfast is in your apartment on arrival. Including muesli, sourdough bread, condiments, milk and butter.

Does Amarna have a restaurant onsite?

  • NO

Where do you recommend dining in Port Stephens?

  • Our favorite restaurants suitable for lunch or dinner are Sandpipers Nelson Bay, The Little Beach Boathouse on Little Beach or The Poyers on the marina at Lemon Tree Passage. Great Nelson Bay breakfast spots are The Little Nel and Home Interior, both a short waterfront walk from Amarna.

How far is the local supermarket for provisions?

  • Amarna is less than a 5 minute drive or 15 minute waterfront walk to Nelson Bay’s Woolworths, BYO Cellars and Fresh Fish Market.

Are children welcome at Amarna?

  • Yes, they are more than welcome. Complimentary cots and high chairs are provided for infants 2 years and under.

Does Amarna offer Babysitting services?

  • Yes, Amarna Resort can arrange childcare services on your behalf through our local certified provider Sit-4-U. Please inquire when making your reservation online or alternatively phone the resort on (02) 4981 1644. Baby sitting services are subject to availability (fees and charges to be advised). Are guests permitted to sleep on sofa or bring additional bedding?

  • Amarna does not provide sofa or roll-away beds. Additional bedding is not permitted to be added to your apartment.

Am I able to use my Drone whilst on the property?

  • For the privacy and protection of guests, employees, and our property, Amarna prohibits the operation of any aerial system or drone.

  • This prohibition includes drones used for any purpose whatsoever, whether for commercial or personal use, including but not exclusive to still photography, filming or videotaping. Unless authorized in writing by management for the purpose of marketing or promotion.

Am I required to pay a deposit?

  • All reservations require a 50% deposit to confirm. The final balance is required 7 days prior to arrival. This excludes our December / January period where the final balance is required by the 1st November.

What is your cancellation policy?

  • We are happy to transfer your dates or provide a refund for unforeseen circumstance only.

  • There are no refunds if you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the accommodation and decide to terminate your stay.

  • There are no refunds for early departure.

Where is the closest airport?

  • Newcastle airport is a 30 minute drive from Amarna.

What transport is available to Port Stephens?

  • Regular direct flights are available from Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Canberra and a number of regional cities.

  • Hire cars are available from Sydney and Newcastle Airports.

  • Taxis are available from Newcastle Airport.
